This amazing photo taken with my wide angle lens on one of many visits to New York.I spent a week studying these marvels of architecture. I dedicate this photo to the families of the first responders and all who lost there lives who worked at the World Trade Centers. A day in American history etched in our brains for our live times. When I first became a chef, I had worked here at the New Orleans, Louisiana WTC at the foot of famous Canal Street and the Mississippi River. I was employed at the New Orleans, Louisiana World Trade Center for about a year and I was inquiring about being transfered to the World Trade Center in New York. plans to move to and work at the restaurant windows of the world. I did not make the move. On the tragic day, I was working in the main kitchen of the Louisiana Super Dome now re-named the Mercedes-Benz Super Dome. The executive chef and stepped into the kitchen and made the announcement a jet had crashed into the World Trade Center. Moist of us fell silent and we went to his office and had watched the horrific events unfold and take place from the TV's which were mounted on the wall. His office was filled to capacity and standing outside looking in. At the moment the second passenger crashed into the second building, one of the supervisor had made the comment, "America is at war". and employees started to cry aloud. Everyone was busy preparing foods for an event the Super-dome was sponsoring. Everything was halted as if the day the earth stood still. Because of events unfolding, the Super Dome immediately went into lock-down. Everyone at that moment regardless who they were became a unity. We all were crying in each others arms and consoling the frightened employees. Because the Super Dome was controlled by the State and local Government all employees orderly went to a ball room in the dome. No one could enter or leave and we all were where being updated with the procedures which would take place for our clearance for leaving the Superdome. Most of us huddled together said prayers aloud for the first responders and workers of the World Trade Centers. What seemed like hours everyone in the New Orleans, Louisiana Superdome was accounted for, State and City officials gave the signal for everyone to leave and go home. Everyone filled a signal line and was directed to one entrance to exit the New Orleans, Louisiana Superdome and head home. I did not live far and walked home and tried in vain to make sense of everything. As I looked around people strangers were crying, cars zooming buy I asked myself do they know what has taken place. When I reached my house, I turned on the TV and was in shock. I had been in touch with friends and family throughout the day and evening. By weeks ends community across America events were planned for local vigils to take place. I went to New Orleans, Louisiana I took Chris a step-mother friend to attend with me. I searched for all my photos I had taken of the WTC on my many visits and brought them along with me to share with everyone attending. Months later being a collector of antiques I was going through items I might bring to the national Antiques Road Show on PBS. The show was making a visit to New Orleans, Louisiana and out of a folder of documents one fell and landed on the floor when I reached down to pick it up it was one of the original brochures I had saved from my visiting the World Trade Centers. The original brochure is a fold out souvenir and in letters above the World Trade Centers it reads "The Closest Place Some Of Us Will Get To Heaven". And in this photo with the sun directly overhead and seems to appear as infinite hence the title of my photo "Infinite Memory"

Hello Tavi, I appreciate the feature. Having visited New York for the first time in 1984 I spent an entire day in awe, walking and observing this wonderful piece of modern day architecture. Out of the rolls and rolls of film I took of the WTC I had selected my two best examples to post in the your group. On google earth this photo and my other photo was submitted and excepted at panoramino to share with the world. In memory of all who lost there lives, and first responders I dedicated Infinite Memory to those who lost there life and first responders. I hope my photos of this Iconic structure a sense of solice.
