Foraging on the new grazing grounds.Pryor Mountains Wild Horse Range located in the Pryor Mountains of Montana and Wyoming in the United States, and are the only Mustang herd remaining in Montana. The horses graze in the lupine fields and full of wild flowers also. in summerThey are protected by the Wild and Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971 (WFRHBA) and managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). These wild horses are unique and believed to be descendants of the Spanish horses that were introduced to the area in the 1700's. The horses move throughout the region in search of water and food. During much of the year they stay near springs in the lower elevations, though in summer they head uphill to subalpine meadows, where they find grasses and forbs, as well as several small reservoirs.
