Description

A Monarch butterfly in flight prepares to land on verbena lilacina blossoms in a California native wildflower garden near Mill Valley.

I prayed to God for guidance in writing the narrative for this photo. I felt the Lord directing me to closely observe the orange and black colors on the Monarch’s wings. These colors might bring to remembrance about a certain annual “event” on October 31st.

However, I felt God saying if COVID-19 has taught anything, it is that life can change literally overnight ~ and we cannot afford to go back to business as usual.

The time in which we live is too crucial for that.

And the stakes could not be higher.

God wants us to step up to a higher level of maturity and discernment.

One day, we will stand before God to give an account of how we lived our life on earth.

The words of Joshua’s challenge to the House of Israel echo down the corridor of time to the 2020s and beyond:

“But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15, NASB)

We must serve somebody, and we have a choice.

Is it God ~ or the devil?

May each of us choose wisely.

Each person’s eternal DESTINY depends on it.
