White Roses
Artist
Ken Powers
Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
These white roses are a climbing variety that are growing in an out-of-control manner around my house. This particular bunch was hanging over and sitting on my porch just begging me to paint them. I obviously used negative painting techniques to create them (hopefully in a positive manner). The background is purely Daniel Smith Bronzite watercolor paint while the rest of the subject uses Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint. The Bronzite watercolor paint really settles into the coarse grained Arches 140# cold-pressed watercolor paper I used and has glistening effect due to the metal particulate that sparkles in the paint. The original is 10.25"x14" in size.
