White and Purple Lavender in bloom. This photo was taken in the Summer of 2014 in the area of Sequim, Washington State, US. The town is known as the Lavender Capital of North America for its many lavender farms, lavender festival, many shops and boutiques offering lavender products. The sunny dry climate in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley is similar to the south of France, making Sequim one of the best places in the country to grow this beautiful, fragrant herb.
