Description
This painting was inspired by the sad death of a family friend, Nandita, or Mini. She passed away in 2013 after a long and brave battle with a rare lung disease. I saw her spirit as finally having been released from the painful prison of her body and wanted to depict this.
This is the orientation that it was painted, but many viewers enjoy it on its side or "upside down".
