Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
My neighbor absolutely hates these and they grow like weeds around all of our properties. However, I once saw someone on a television gardening show intentionally plant "Morning Glory" in their front yard using a trellis. I think they have a nice aroma so I am not too concerned about their voracious growth. This piece is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint and Daniel Smith watercolor paint. The original is 14"x10.25" in size and is painted on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. I really like the textures that this paper and paint combination provides.

Ken, I recognize this as Morning Glory. My partner can't stand them but I love your painting?

Beautiful work, Ken! I really like the tinges of color at the flower edges and in the leaves to tie it together. I think this is called bindweed and in fact, we are trying to get rid of it in a ditch where it keeps popping up. But, you are right, it is indeed, a very beautiful flower - its in the morning glory family. You did a splendid job!

I too thought it to be a photo and that would have been lovely but what a delight to find this superb watercolour. Wonderful. So...... what IS the story? sibby -
