I walked out of my house one afternoon, to see this beautiful Red-shouldered Hawk. Ran back in to get my camera, and he was actually still there! It doesn't usually work out that way. These colorful, mediun sized hawks are considered by some cultures to be a spiritual messenger. They are said to reflect a greater intensity of energy within your life, and an increased physical, emotional, mental, and spritiual forces. A wonderful omen for me. It had just raines heavily, and was still misty. I got to watch him stretch, and preen, and shake off the water, for ten minutes or so, before he flew off. It was a wonderful treat.
