Painting - Mixed Media (acrylic, Watercolor, Gouache) On 140lb Arches Watercolor Paper
Description
This was one of the first mixed media pieces I did for sale back in the mid 90s. The outfits of these women were highly textured acrylic on a vibrant watercolor/gouache background. Although the original sold, I am now able to offer prints.

Wow... thank you so much Dawn! These women are very special to me too. I first designed them to be painted on the backs of jackets - before I knew it, full scale paintings were my main focus for these ladies. I really appreciate the detailed comments - so glad you like this work..

Sheer joy! The vibrancy, the love, the tenderness of the generations (I love the little girl so proudly protected among the women) all give this a deep resonance and universal significance. Marvelous work!

I really like your artful expression on women. This is beautiful with it's colors and the feeling you've given of sisterhood. Very well done!
Angela L Walker replied:
Thanx so much, Jill. These women are my personal favorites... I actually have different (very large) versions of them all over my walls: some have suede clothes with textured backgrounds; some have brightly colored, highly textured clothes. I appreciate your comments very much.

Alga, glad to know someone likes this one besides me. It is one of my personal favorites... I once said, "if no one likes it but me, I'll be okay with that"... but the truth is, I'm very happy to know others like my faceless women too. :-)
