It was billed as a ‘must do’ walk on Great Barrier Island, New Zealand: Warren’s Track, a gently graded climb to a picturesque waterfall and swimming hole Perhaps I had become jaded of the simply spectacular landscapes in New Zealand but when we came across this small cascade flowing down into a pool of aqua water, I thought ‘Must-do? Are you kidding?’ But how ungrateful can you be?! The water was still turquoise, we had left whatever sparse crowds there were on the island behind, and we were enjoying the peace of nature. So I told myself to just sit down and be happy! But then a little ways up the stream I saw the orange trail marker! There was still more to come!
