Original watercolor painting, 'Thrush with Autumn Leaves', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. I was inspired to paint the impression of a Hermit Thrush, a medium-sized songbird of North America. I wanted this bird to be the main subject matter, but I also wanted to create an interesting background with a sense of movement and design. Many colors fill this lively piece, with warm autumn orange, yellow, and magenta tones in the leaves, and darker olive, purple, and blue tones in the undergrowth and shadows.
