Original watercolor painting, 'Sword-billed Hummingbird with Tropical Flowers', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. This unique hummingbird is found in Andean cloud forests of Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru. It is the only hummingbird with a bill longer than its body! I composed this painting to also feature various tropical flowers, including fuchsia. Lighting is also an important element of this piece, with highlights and shadows, similar to what you would find in a dense South American forest.
