Original watercolor painting, 'Off the Coast of Ecuador', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Several years ago I had the fortune of spending several weeks in Ecuador, and for a few of those days I visited the coastal community of Puerto Lopez. This is a fishing village, but it is also home to wildlife excursions to the coastal forests and to the Isla de la Plata. One morning the harbor was very active, with fishermen preparing their boats for launch and for fishing. Numerous Magnificent Frigatebird seabirds were flying overhead, and Brown Pelican were swimming in the waters between the boats. In this piece, I chose to convey sunset, with warm, bright colors in the sky and reflected in the water.
