This painting is based off of a photo I took of a Mountain Goat parent with its child, deep in the Weminuche Wilderness in the Rocky Mountains of southwest Colorado. These animals of the rugged alpine regions are at home on the rocks and boulders strewn across the upper elevations of the Rockies. Here, the parent is peering around a giant boulder, with its young several feet back on a smaller rock.
