Warm And Cool
Photograph - Digital Photography
Every time I visit the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, I marvel over the light effects of Louis Kahn's specially designed barrel vaults as the daylight is reflected across their curved surfaces. On this wet, rainy day, the incoming light was very cool and bluish, which contrasted with the warm yellow from the interior light fixtures. I wanted to take advantage of the diagonal lines that eventually direct the eye to the Joshua Reynolds portrait at the far end and the young art students kneeling as they sketched it. This photo is an HDR composite of three consecutive exposure-bracketed photos.
