Description
Out in California, in Ventura county, I was watching birds in the bottle brush trees around this area. This beauty landed on a branch to check for insects on the tree. I found out it is called a Blackburnian Warbler. I was thrilled to capture this photograph of it. In researching this pretty yellow bird, the information states it is actually unusual to be seen in the west, as their habitat is in the northeast and migration is in the eastern part of the United States. So I imagine this was an unusual event to see this bird.
Blackburnian Warblers (Setophaga fusca) in forests, where there are a lot of trees. They migrate south and can be seen in brushy areas during migration. They forage in trees looking for insects and will check under leaves and clumps of leaves for them.
