This image of the Queenstown to Strahan, Abt steam locomotive and carriages was created while waiting at a west coast Tasmanian wilderness railroad station. It was an amazing sight to watch the steam rise and swirl around this historic locomotive and carriages as it waited for passengers to board. This particular railway in Tasmania conquered one of the worlds steepest grades using a unique rack and pinion propulsion system and a rainforest jungle considered impossible to penetrate at the time. The locomotive and carriages are beautifully restored. I created this image with Leica S006 camera and Leica Summarit-S 70mm lens. Please Note: This image reproduces superbly on Somerset Velvet paper.
