Description
Beautiful vintage English bone china teacup and saucer featuring yellow flowers and green leaves on a white background. Behind the cup are gold serving pieces, including creamer, sugar bowl, and teapot. The emphasis here is on the china teacup, rather than a full setting for afternoon tea.
These elegant and beautiful serving pieces, inherited from my grandmothers and filled with memories, are set on a dark green jacquard table runner, reminiscent of times when beauty and refinement had a special place in daily life—and time was set aside to enjoy a cup of tea with a friend—originally at 4 p.m. because dinner was served later, around 8 p.m. In keeping with British tradition still observed today, the hostess would serve treats such as sandwiches, scones, or cake along with the tea. The idea now is to provide a little treat in the hours between lunch and dinner, or supper, and a cup of tea and some food can help.
FEATURED on the homepage of Women Photographers and the ABC Group - K is For Keepsake, June 2019. My thanks!
A TOP FINISHER in The Perfect Cuppa Tea Contest, May 2019. Warmest thanks to Laurel Adams, who hosted the contest and deemed all five of my submissions to be winners.

Congratulations on your beautiful image! It is featured in the Women Photographers only group! So glad we could "have tea together" on the home page! I admit, when I saw your teacup image, I had to add one of my favorites so they could help each other get more attention. Teacup fans unite!
Connie Fox replied:
Thank you, Toni. Seeing two teacups together on the homepage felt warm and inviting. I think the recent contest renewed the interest of many of us in teacups, and all that they represent. Honored by the feature in your fine group! Beautiful.
