Vintage Pleasure Pier - Gulf Coast Galveston Texas

Description
If I make quote Wikipedia, "Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier is built 1,130 feet over the Gulf of Mexico, where the original Pleasure Pier stood from 1943 until it was destroyed by Hurricane Carla in 1961. More recently, it was the site of the Flagship, an over-the-water hotel built in 1965 that was demolished after Hurricane Ike in 2008. The original Pleasure Pier featured rides, an arcade, an aquarium, concessions, a large ball room, named the Marine Ballroom, and fishing at the end of the pier. Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier had its soft opening on May 25, 2012"
Living in West Houston, it is always a risk to make the 70-mile drive down to Galveston for photographic purposes, since the weather can change at any minute. True to this, it was a beautiful late afternoon in the Houston area on this specific day, but as I was driving southeast towards the island, the weather changed completely when a cold front stalled between the two cities, making the clouds dump its moisture onto us...I was standing underneath "Murdochs" which acted as a rain shelter until the rain stopped...and that was the time I snapped this shot...enjoy!

Nice! Sharp foreground leading to a dreamier place. The color of the clouds add to it. Well done.
