Vintage Hawaiian Food Gourds Found On A Beach
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Two vintage Hawaiian food gourds found on a beach is my minimalist oil painting that allows attention to focus on the food storage gourds. The ancient Hawaiians used hollowed out and dried gourds for food storage. I've place these storage gourds on a red sand beach, which is what you'll find on most Hawaii beaches. The sand is red. The soil everywhere is red due to the islands being iron rich.
