Description
Upside-down Covered Bridge over the Winnipesaukee River
This bridge is one of the most unusual in the country. First, it's one of a small number of railroad covered bridges remaining. It's the only one where the railroad bed sits on the roof of the bridge instead of going through (thus the nickname Upside-down Bridge), It doesn't look like a covered bridge because the sides were burned away in a 1980 fire that only left the trusses and the roof. It's other name is the Sulphite Covered Bridge.
