An old, weathered door on Boca Grande near Venice, Florida, offered some interesting patterns and textures, including this confusing one. The optical illusion can lead one up or down a staircase, but there is no door or opening at the end. Sometimes we wonder what's the use?
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art. This image would be a good selection for business or corporate wall art and decor or in any home.
Boca Grande is a small residential community on Gasparilla Island, in southwest Florida. Gasparilla Island is a part of both Charlotte and Lee Counties, while the actual village of Boca Grande, which is home to many seasonal and some year-round residents, is entirely in the Lee County portion of the island. Boca Grande is known for its historic downtown, sugar sand beaches, blue water and world class fishing. The name is Spanish for "Big Mouth" and refers to the mouth of the waterway Boca Grande Pass at the southern tip of the island. There are no gas stations in the village of Boca Grande, with the exception of a street pump at Boca Grande Marina, so many local residents use a golf cart as their main mode of transportation. On any given day in Boca Grande, you will see golf carts, as well as some automobiles, making their way throughout downtown. The town has been featured in several movies over the years.
