Description
Fattoria courtyard by the light of a red moon in Cortona, Toscana, Italy. This is my work on a black background done in pen, white and colored pencils, white to set in then colored watercolor pencils and pens to make the colors glow over the white. A touch of fine line painting took place as well. The moon was added through digital painting to get the glow just right.
When I took my grandsons Kaleb and Ethan along with Kaleb's new bride Natalie to explore Tuscany in July of 2019 we spent a week at this beautiful Farmhouse in English in Italian Fattoria that had converted a large part to a Bed and Breakfast that also provided amazing dinners in another courtyard for a price of course. I had booked a Suite an apartment for them that was for the romantic time I wanted for them and Ethan and I had separate rooms sharing a bath in the glorious old farmhouse. It was was 300 years old, all stone and bricks and walls so thick I could not imagine the work that went into building it. Floors were stone as were the stairs and huge beamed ceilings were everywhere. We were lavished with amazing breakfasts every morning, Italian style! Such sweet lovely people and they guided us to the best of places to go see and enjoy Tuscany! I would live there if circumstances allowed. The people were delightful and the way of life was charming.
