I don’t know how much you have to ‘get’ art to enjoy artist Jeff Koons colorful Tulips sculpture at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao Spain. Tulips is one of several large art sculptures outside the museum that can be enjoyed any time of the day or night. Although you can only get up close and personal with Tulips with a museum entry, its location on the atrium terrace makes it clearly visible from across the museum’s pond. Amidst all the silver and titanium of the museum structure, it is a rare spot of color on the museum grounds. Tulips is described as “a bouquet of multicolor balloon flowers blown up to gargantuan proportions (more than 2 meters tall and 5 meters across)�, made of high chromium stainless steel with transparent color coating. American artist Jeff Koons draw inspiration from birthday parties, holidays, the coming of spring, and other celebrations.
