The cross is displayed perpendicular to the viewer so as to form a dividing line between the compensation of time before the crucifixion and the world after the crucifixion. There is a lot of spiritual symbolism here. On the left side satan is represented by a presense in the sky as the prince of power of the air. The Sanhedren are shown on a platform overlooking the Crucifixion while soldiers cast lots for the garments of Christ. One centorian a on his horse looks with honor and humidity upon tge Crucified Christ. This would be the one who declares "Truly this mam was the Son of God." Even his horse seems to recognize the divinity of Christ. Then there are mourners at the feet of Christ including the two Marys and the faithful Apostle John. Then the space to the right of the cross represents a new beginning in a new compensation of time after the Crucifixion. There's the promise of the Holy Spirit represented by the dove and the rainbow. There is renewal back to the tree of life once offered to Adam and Eve. There is a river of life where people are healed and receive great joy. Angels work in the garden while life abounds everywhere, eternal and infinite life abounds unrestricted by death, hell and the grave.
