Description
For this series, I was inspired by old locomotive lithographs from the 1800’s. I loved the way they appeared so clean, in black and white, against a plain background, only putting the emphasis on the machine itself. I find great beauty in train cars and steam engines, especially ones that have endured the elements and display the ravages of time. I tried to replicate those old images with a modern spin, and instead of drawings I photographed them and removed all distractions so only the beauty of the machine is left to behold.
