Description
This lovely bird is called a Tufted Titmouse and it comes around this area of north Texas in the Fall season. It has such big round eyes and is a very lively bird. It stays only for a few seconds at a time on the tree branches as it forages for food. This pose seems like it was looking on the ground for something to eat before taking off.
The Tufted Titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor) bird lives mostly in woodlands, shade trees and groves and are very active birds. They forage among the trees and mostly eat insects and seeds, sometimes eating acorns as well. They are mostly seen in the eastern half of the United States.
