Three pink tulips, watercolor batik on rice paper, by Conni Schaftenaar.
This is my second version of this painting, done in a larger size to submit to a local annual competition here in West Michigan for a Tulip Time Poster. It's a big competition each year, and this is the first time I've submitted one, so I was pretty excited and anxious about how it would do! I was so excited when I was notified that it was one of twenty paintings chosen as the "Top 20" from which group the Tulip Time poster was selected.
My painting was not selected as the poster, and, sadly, the CoVid-19 pandemic has caused Tulip Time to be canceled this year, so all of us who were waiting to have our Top 20 paintings in the public voting in May 2020 have been released from our obligations to keep these paintings available. So now I can finally share with my FAA friends!
