Three Chickadees
Chickadees are small-sized birds belonging to the Paridae family. They are found in North America and referred to as chickadees, while in other parts of the world they are called tits. The North American species of chickadees, belonging to the genus Poecile, have a darker crown of the head and throat patch than their body. Their unique "chick-a-dee-dee-dee" calls indicate the level of threat from predators. The black-capped chickadee is the official bird of Massachusetts, Maine, New Brunswick, and Calgary. The grey-headed chickadee in North America and Siberian tit in Eurasia are the same species with different names.
