The city of Thessaloniki is the capital of the region of Macedonia in northern Greece and co-capital of Greece. Its history spreads across the centuries. It is so easy to fall in love with this city. It has culture, history, a remarkable cuisine and wonderful sea views.
In this photo you can distinguish many famous landmarks of Thessaloniki. The White Tower which is probably the most famous monument and museum on the waterfront of the city. Next to it there is the Royal Theatre (Vasiliko Theatro - NTNG - National Theater of Northern Greece). Nea Paralia is the city's promenade where tourists and locals enjoy their evening walks watching the setting sun reflecting into the sun. There are also some little ships which are floating bars! The passengers are having their drinks and coffee while enjoying a boating in Thermaic gulf. Up on the hill you can see Vlatadon Monastery in Ano Poli. It was built in the 14th century during the late era of the Byzantine Empire. Furthermore it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the 15 in the city!
This photo was taken during a colorful pink sunset just before the city lights are turned on. Another beautiful night in the city of Thessaloniki. No wonder why this city is in the bucket list of so many tourists!
