Title
The Wolf Moon And The Belt Of Venus
Artist
Alexios Ntounas
Medium

Description
The full moon of January is also called the wolf moon because wolves were more often heard howling at this time. It was traditionally believed that wolves howled due to hunger during winter. Here you can also see the belt of Venus also called Venus's Girdle, the antitwilight arch, or antitwilight. It is an atmospheric phenomenon visible shortly before sunrise or after sunset, during civil twilight. It is that pinkish glow which along with the clouds and full moon created a wonderful view.
