The Venerable Live Oak Of Florida
Photograph - Photography
This is a Venerable Live Oak along a country road in Columbia County, Florida. Live Oak trees are long lived and tough. Timber from Live Oak was used in the making of Old Ironsides and has been used in refurbishing it. It is so tough that canon balls would bounce off the sides, which is where the ship, the USS Constitution derived it's nickname.
