The historic Emancipation Oak, located on the campus of Hampton University, in Hampton, Virginia is over 200 years old. The branches of this old oak tree spread out to roughly 98 feet.
I sat out to visit this historic tree that was designated as one of the 10 Great Trees of the world by the National Geographic Society. There is much history with this tree and plenty of shade.
