Description
OLOLOKWE MOUNTAIN (sacred mountain). There is a reason why the local people called it the sacred Mountain. I respect community beliefs in whichever culture, that stretched many years before the know-it-all modern world took over. This is one of the most dramatic features of Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya.
Imagine this place like 300 years ago, most likely throngs would gather here to witness this awesome majestic Mountain. They would most likely come to worship next to this great Mountain. It might look primitive today. But those many years ago, this could have been the most important thing to do for many tribes living in this area. Respect.
Just another amazing, awesome rock for your eyes to enjoy. I painted this mountain some time back when the road was rough and dusty! This is my second edition 12 years down the line. The road has long been tarmacked and looks really nice. If the Ancestors woke up today, they would most likely want to cleanse this whole area for like a month. Who knows!
This is a Mountain of beauty, another great feature of the grand terrains of Kenya!
In Memory of a great man. Said Wabera. RIP big brother. You stood strong like the OLOLOKWE
