This is the site of the famous shootout between Rooster Cogburn and the Lucky Ned Pepper Gang in the 1969 movie "True Grit". Lucky Nep Pepper entered the meadow from the left and Rooster charged with guns blazing from the right.
Welcome fellow travelers. Though originally from Illinois, Colorado has been home since 1959. Since, as a boy, I snapped my first photo, I have been captivated by the symphony of beauty, and intricate design which surrounds us.
