The Red Arches And Tower Bilbao Spain
Photograph - Photography And Digital Art
On a practically windless afternoon in Bilbao Spain, the The Red Arches and a tower are reflected in the Guggenheim Museum pool below. The Red Arches span La Salve Bridge at one end of the Guggenheim Museum site and is a sculpture commissioned in 2007 on the 10th anniversary of the museum’s opening. The tower is at one end of a large interior gallery in the museum and is “a sculpture gesture that brings the architectural design to a crescendo that appears to envelop the colossal bridge and effectively incorporates it into the building”. Stairs lead from the promenade on the museum’s riverside up to the tower and allow one to walk inside the tower as well as access the bridge to cross the Nervion River.
