Description
This is a painting of typical farm buildings in rural Kent, UK. The barn has a long, sloping roof and the attached oasthouse, which was used for drying hops to be used in the brewing of beer, has not been converted into a dwelling, as have so many. As a student, I spent many happy hours working in these oasts, moving hops and monitoring the kilns as the hops were dried.
