The Merryall Chapel Vintage Style
Artist
Andrea Swiedler
Medium
Photograph - Paintography, Photo Art
Description
Dedicated on December 18th, 1890, The Merryall Chapel was built to give locals living in the Merryall section of New Milford, Connecticut a place to worship and bring their children up in a Christian enviornment. It has always been non denominational, welcoming all.
The Merryall Chapel is still in use, once a month a visiting clergy holds service for any interested. The church is also used for weddings.
This photograph was taken from the rear of the building. It sits on a beautiful country road, wrapped by fields and a stream along the side. A magical setting to say the least. Across the street is the very active Merryall Center for the Arts.
