The sky with its fluffy white clouds adds to the sacredness of the feel of this picture. The Lord being God as a shepherd he looks after his people and sees to their needs as he did David as he was a shepherd before a king the writer of this Psalm or song, he probably sang this to the harp of which he was a renown player, I can imagine just how beautiful King David's voice was singing to the music of the harp as he soothed the then King Saul's troubled mind as mentioned in the Bible, we will never know as recording privileges we have now never existed then, but we can be sure it would have been lovely. David probably wrote this when he was fleeing from King Saul and how God helped him as a good shepherd, and David wrote it to show his appreciation for the things that God did for him as the righteous King of Israel he was then and he David became the forefather of lineage to the Christ and because of this he and his name remained in the house of God forever.
A very popular Psalm used at weddings and funerals frequently. remember though when you use it, it's not just a pretty religious song, but a sacred Psalm we should live by as the song says: God rewards and cares for his people who obey and respect him as the Almighty God who is and always will be our Father in heaven
