This Glacier Bay landscape and seascape shows rock formations of two types: n the background are tall snow-covered peaks. It can safely be assumed that everything here that looks like snow is actually glacier. So we have beautiful glacial peaks.

In the foreground is a rounded solid-rock formation adjacent to a turquoise-tinted glacier with S-shaped curving lines stretching down the slip and ending near the waters of Glacier Bay. In the water one can see many fragments of the glacier as it has calved into the sea. The sky above this beautifully geometric scene is crystal-clear with no clouds. The poster effect lends a vignette feel to the sky in both upper corners, leading the eye downward to the rugged mountain peaks.

The tranquil beauty of Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve includes more than 3.2 million acres of forest, inlet and shore, mountain peaks rising over 15,000 feet, and amazing glaciers. Each is many miles in length, and with its own distinctive face and history. I decided to experiment with this traditional photography and found beautiful contiguous lines and a special beauty that one might otherwise not fully appreciate. I hope you enjoy seeing it.
