This particular angle was achieved by standing up and pointing downwards to a better contrast....the image was slightly darkened to achieve the beauty of this amazing insect. The background is natural dark in my depth of field....
This stunning back light of a mosquito hawk perched on a reed at the Mississippi River edge was taken on 4th of July awaiting the night time fireworks display, This beautiful image would be ideal to any insect collector, the glimmer of light passing through the wings of the mosquito hawk and the subtle hues of the light reflecting off the Mississippi River at sunset. This photo was taken with a Nikon 820 manual settings and slight density control. This one of a new series titled The Light Of Flight.....
