Description
Tith the sun peeking through, the lone cypress at a popular surfing location named "The Hook" overlooks surfers on a foggy day. The Hook is a popular surfing spot near the intersection of East Cliff Drive and 41st Avenue in the Opal Cliffs neighborhood of Santa Cruz. There isn’t much in the way of a sandy beach at the bottom of the stairs except at low tide when you can make your way down the beach to the left. If you want to watch the surfers at The Hook there is a small viewing area with benches and picnic tables along 41st Ave that look out from the bluff top.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS!
