Pastel - Soft Pastel
A humans’ face can show so many emotions. This drawing has so much meaning for me due to the very difficult circumstances I was going through at the time & also where it was drawn. So many emotions and thoughts are flying around and in the person that it is blurring and obscuring how others view him, but also his view of the world as well. A few of the emotions are purple for abuse and deep emotional pain, orange for frustration and anger, blue for sadness and emptiness. The black is for feelings of emptiness, despair, and not being able to see any light in the future, which not only swirls around him but also at this moment defines his face and his consciousness. However, as the talented photographer & artist Chance Kafka (I strongly encourage you to visit his page on FAA) pointed out, “the whiteness of the face can represent the inner light of pureness & creativity of the person shining brighter than everything else”- thanks Chance.
