The Blaze Of Autumn
Painting - Oil Painting On Hardboard Panel.
A quintessential autumn view of an ancient stone wall with some "witness trees" growing alongside the stone wall. "Witness trees are trees that were left to grow or were planted to "witness" the property boundary between two farms. Wall could be moved, trees could not. Sugar Maple trees were the tree of choice for along the walls as they offered easy access for tapping maple sap in late winter or early spring.
Captured in oil paints on a 12 x 16 inch hardboard panel. Prints in various sizes and media are available.
