Description
One of only a few of my works, where I've applied different treatments to the same image. They are all prresented here because I couldn't decide which one I like best. I chose the title for each to include the word "Tanglewood," because of the underlying tangled banches of a dead tree. which reminded me of a book I read foundly as a child. Tanglewood Tales for Boys and Girls (1853) is a book by American author Nathaniel Hawthorne. It is a re-writing of well-known Greek myths in a volume for children. I loved reading about Greek mythology, but of course that lead somehow to science fiction which peaks to the odd shapes in each piece of art. Hawthorne wrote the first book while renting a small cottage (later named Tanglewood in honor of the book) in the Berkshires, a vacation area for industrialists during the Gilded Age.
