Description
Once again, this painting is part of a backlog of work I had completed before my long hospitalization. This is a digital oil painting using a public domain image as a reference. As with all digitally created art, the piece is considered "original" because the final result can only be found on my computer and is created especially for print sales. It is unlike any other photo or painting of the same subject . It does not slavishly "copy" the original photo either.
Talacre Lighthouse is situated on the west side of the River Dee on the north coast of Wales. . The village for which it is named sits beside miles of pure sandy beaches and dunes and includes a nature preserve. Built in 1776, the lighthouse has been abandoned since 1844 and stories abound that it is haunted. On many occasions since it was abandoned, witnesses have reported a ghostly lighthouse keeper wearing old fashioned clothes, standing on the small balcony in front of the glass dome.
