A down burst from August 19, 2014 in the Davis Mountains of west Texas. The Chihuahuan desert is a lush green landscape from the recent rains. Mount Baldy seen through the opening. Livermor is a tough climb but beautiful in the distance.
Photo was taken from below McDonald Observatory just below the Hobby Eberly Telescope ( HET ). The road to location is Spur 77 and Spur 78 just off of Highway 118. You can find this oasis and touch of paradise 16 miles from Fort Davis Texas.
