Driving down Highway 35 south of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area was a barn which had becomes known to many artists. This barn had a sign painted on it advertising the Sugardale Companies Meat products. The barn was an older one, with peeling paint as well as the paint all over the advertisement was doing the same thing. It made for great subject matter. One day my husband and I drove up to the barn and asked the owner a little about the barn and also asked to take pictures. He said, "Sure. A lot of people have come to do the same thing". So we went everywhere snapping pictures of this great barn. Later, I took the picture of the advertisement and added a little filter of trees to suggest the passage of time. Later on, I found that the barn had been painted blue and another company was showing their product. It never had the same appeal.
