Description
I painted this little girl from Darfur for a Fundraiser and I donated all proceeds to UNHCR to aid the people of Darfur. A year later I was invited to Washington DC for the Annual Refugee Day conference, where I listened to refugees as they told their horrific stories. Everyone on the podium and in the audience wept and the cruelty that many children are subjected to. I will never forget that conference I truly hope that my work can make a difference in the life of others.

Hi, Enzie! I hope Eddie Beck above is right about the peace, etc., in her eyes. To me it is fear and uncertain about the immediate present, determination, yes, but little hope against overwhelming odds. Maybe I'm letting my predisposition from the news of the many, many months of rape and plunder, destruction, relocation, all the spoils of war. Whatever, the photo is a masterpiece, and the girl is beautiful beyond my imagination. And I think that some of the qualities of great art -- which I have no doubt this is, definitely -- often fill us with awe,.perhaps make us wonder and ponder the situation, its past and present, and show great lines in the composition, which this definitely does. And more. Thank you for contributing this to the universe, and may it have many more sales and wide circulation. Peace, etc., Bruce Combs

Eddie, I am so honored that you think so highly of my work. It also makes me ashamed that I have not painted another such piece for UNHCR. I think it's long over due now!

Hi Enzie! I love these peaceful eye's, a master piece has been created on this canvas of this beautiful Sudanese Girl, very peaceful young Sudanese Angel she was, the face of hope as it seems to me, perfectly excecuted, brillant composition and perfectly matching colour combination, and the red scarf give's it a warmish soft glow and capture the eye from first sight a brilliant choice of contrast against the darkish skin, well done, you've handeled this girl with love and care in every artistic manner, you're very talented high caliber artist indeed, i admire your spirit of helping others in need too, all the best . Eddie

You must look at people and see them as artwork not yet realized, but then something inside you brings it to reality. If I did this painting I would be very very proud of myself. I'm sure that you are proud of this wonder piece of art.

It is funny you say this. Just last night someone at the gallery saw a print of this and told me I see something in people that often goes unnoticed. I am very honored to hear that my work touches the soul of others.
