Description

This photograph was taken early one morning as I kayaked down the Magalloway River. This river is one of my favorites to kayak as it is always beautiful and takes you into Umbagog Lake, which always has the most beautiful reflections.

The Magalloway River is a river in northwestern Maine and northern New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Androscoggin River, which flows to the Kennebec River at Merrymeeting Bay in Maine, near the Atlantic Ocean. This particular area is part of the Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge. Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge, spanning northern New Hampshire and Maine, provides its visitors with vast forests, wetlands, lakes, and rivers. The refuge was established in 1992 with the primary purposes of protecting wetlands and wetland-associated wildlife and to protect migratory birds.
